Terms of Service

Last updated: April 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the MaplePass website at getmaplepass.com ("the Site") and any services provided through it ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

MaplePass is a document preparation service that assists users in preparing their CIT 0001 application for Canadian citizenship by descent under Bill C-3. Our Service includes:

  • An AI-guided application builder that helps you complete the CIT 0001 form accurately.
  • Document verification tools that check your uploaded supporting documents against IRCC requirements.
  • An eligibility assessment tool that evaluates whether your family history qualifies you for citizenship by descent.
  • Generation of a complete, print-ready application package for submission to IRCC.
  • Informational resources about the citizenship by descent process, Bill C-3, and required documentation.

3. Important Disclaimer — Not Legal Advice

MaplePass is NOT a law firm. We are NOT immigration consultants. We do NOT provide legal advice.

Use of MaplePass does not create an attorney-client relationship, a consultant-client relationship, or any other professional advisory relationship. The information provided on our website and through our Service is for general informational and document preparation purposes only.

We prepare documents based on the information you provide. Citizenship decisions are made solely by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). We cannot guarantee that your application will be approved.

If you need legal advice regarding your specific immigration situation, we recommend consulting with a licensed immigration attorney or a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).

4. User Accounts & Responsibilities

When you create an account on MaplePass, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information: All information you provide — including personal details, family history, and uploaded documents — must be truthful and accurate. Providing false information on a Canadian citizenship application is a serious offense under Canadian law.
  • Maintain account security: You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getmaplepass.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Use the Service lawfully: You may not use MaplePass for any unlawful purpose, to submit fraudulent applications, or to misrepresent your identity or eligibility.
  • Review your application: You are ultimately responsible for reviewing the accuracy of your completed application package before submitting it to IRCC. MaplePass assists with preparation, but you bear final responsibility for the content of your submission.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Pricing

MaplePass charges a one-time fee for the document preparation service. Current pricing is displayed on our pricing page. Prices are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time, but price changes will not affect orders already placed and paid for.

5.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. MaplePass does not store your credit card details.

5.3 Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a money-back guarantee under the following conditions:

  • If, during the application preparation process, we determine that you do not qualify for Canadian citizenship by descent based on the information and documents you have provided, you are entitled to a full refund.
  • Refund requests must be submitted within 60 days of payment.
  • The guarantee does not apply if your application is rejected by IRCC for reasons unrelated to eligibility (e.g., incomplete submission, unsigned forms, or issues with supporting documents that you did not upload for verification).
  • The guarantee does not apply if you provided inaccurate or misleading information about your family history.

To request a refund, contact support@getmaplepass.com with your order details. Refunds are processed within 10 business days.

5.4 Government Fees

Our service fee does not include government filing fees charged by IRCC (currently $75 CAD for a proof of citizenship application). You are responsible for paying government fees directly to IRCC when you submit your application.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the MaplePass website — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and the overall design and layout — is the property of MaplePass or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any content from our website without our prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use (e.g., printing a resource page for your own reference).

The application packages we generate for you are yours to use for their intended purpose (submitting to IRCC). However, the underlying templates, algorithms, and software used to generate them remain the property of MaplePass.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MaplePass and its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Any loss or damage resulting from the denial or delay of your citizenship application by IRCC.
  • Any errors in your application resulting from inaccurate information that you provided.
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data, notwithstanding our security measures.
  • Any interruption or cessation of the Service, whether temporary or permanent.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service exceed the amount you paid to MaplePass in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (b) the results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable; (c) any errors in the Service will be corrected; or (d) your citizenship application will be approved by IRCC.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MaplePass and its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another person or entity; or (d) any inaccurate information you provide through the Service.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in Delaware, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against MaplePass.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to: violation of these Terms, providing fraudulent information, abusive behavior toward our staff, or suspected illegal activity.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you have a completed application package, we will make it available for download for 30 days following termination. After that period, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including government agencies (IRCC, provincial vital statistics offices), genealogy databases, and service providers. These links are provided for your convenience and do not signify our endorsement of those sites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of third-party websites.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unenforceable, or illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MaplePass regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
